     This report came to me April 11th, 2015, and before fear grips my friends, I want to share an easy way to guard against and to treat the dis-ease with this brush with nature…

     The CDC says:  Many people who become infected with POW virus do not develop any symptoms.  POW virus can cause encephalitis (inflammation of the brain and meningitis (inflammation of the membranes that surrond the brain and spinal cord).  Symptoms can include fever, headache, momiting, weakness, confusion, loss of coordination, speech difficulties, and seizures.  Diagnosis is based on a combination of signs and symptoms and laboratory tests of blood or spinal fluid.  These tests typically detect antibodies that the immune system makes against the viral infection. 

NEW YORK — It spreads like Lyme disease, but doctors say it’s even worse. Ticks in parts of the northeastern U.S. and around the Great Lakes have been found to carry a rare and potentially life-threatening virus.
     CBS2 New York reports, doctors warn that the Powassan virus can come on with very sudden, severe symptoms. There is no known treatment or cure.  “The [conventional] doctor just has to support you during the acute illness and hope that you survive,” Dr. Daniel Cameron explained.

Cameron is president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. He said that if bitten by a Powassan-infected tick, you can get the virus within a matter of minutes, and while the symptoms are similar to Lyme disease, they are more severe.  “You can get seizures, high fevers, stiff neck. It comes on so suddenly that it’s the kind of thing people go to the emergency room for,” he explained.  [Incubation 1 week to 1 month.]
Researchers with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station said the Powassan virus is starting to show up in Bridgeport and Branford. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it has also been seen around the Great Lakes, primarily in late spring, early summer, and mid-fall, when ticks are most active.
Only about 50 cases of Powassan have been reported in the U.S. in the last 10 years.
“I couldn’t imagine having something worse than this. It sounds really awful,” Lyme disease patient Jennifer Cirigliano said.  Cirigliano was diagnosed with Lyme disease 2 years ago. The 15-year-old said it’s been a long road of recovery.  “I was getting scared that there could be seriously something wrong,” she said.
Now, with this emerging tick-borne illness, doctors say there’s even more reason to be on the lookout throughout the spring and summer.  “Be more vigilant about checking. I can’t stay indoors. Summer is the time to be outside,” one woman said.
There are some steps you can take to protect yourself. Experts suggest using bug spray, wearing long pants and long sleeves outdoors, avoiding wooded areas, and checking yourself for ticks after you’ve spent time outside.     © 2015 CBS Interactive Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Number two on our healthy you is to take a homeopathic cell salt daily.  You can obtain these at any health food store or wherever homeopathic remedies are sold.  There are 12 cell salts.  Some people, especially those who grew up in Europe where homeopathic medications are popular alternatives to conventional medications, have self-taught themselves how to take the Twelve Biochemic Tissue Cell Salts for everything.  They use them as nutritional supplements, as preventative treatment for contagious illness, and as treatment for chronic diseases.  These aficionados take ONLY cell salts.  For this article we will concentrate on using the salts to enhance your immune system and maintain good health.

Take one cell salt every day for a month.  For example, for the month of January take one pellet of Ferrum phosphoricum each day.  For the month of February take one pellet of Calcarea phosphoricum each day.  Repeat this progression through the chart until you have finished all the months of a year of taking one of the 12 Cell Salts daily.   It takes a year to complete this total body-cleansing program.  Then delight in your healthier you.




Last month was my grandson’s ninth birthday.  Let me tell you about my present for him.

For weeks I went to Morningside Park for inspiration, took out my paper and pen and…  I couldn’t think of what to write.  A few years ago I began writing my grandchildren a story for their birthdays.  I began with a fishing adventure:  A Special Day with Grandma.  The 2 boys and Grandma went fishing but before the actual fishing began, the lines were tangled, the car broke down, and other misadventures befell us.  The next year I wrote about a group of Snaklings – two of which just happened to have the same names as the 2 grandchildren – who went on adventures in the woods and encountered some hazards of nature.

This year, I just couldn’t think of what to write.  Both of the boys love to fish with their father.  Both began learning to tie their own flies this year with dad teaching them ever so gently.  So fishing seemed like a good theme.  But…  nothing!  No great inspirational thoughts!  Perhaps there is no story in my brain I thought.  What to do??

A truck pulled alongside me.  He honked his horn many times, got out and went down to the waterline looking longingly out to the lake.  So, of course, I struck up a conversation with him.   He was late.  He had missed the boat.  He owns his own business and had to answer calls.  His friends had gone out without him and were on the other side of the lake.  It was a windy blustery day, cold, and his buddies just couldn’t hear even the honk of his truck’s horn.

I told him I was writing a story for my grandsons and I wanted to make it a fishing story.  I asked, “Do you have any fish stories?”

Well…   Did he ever!!  He being a fisherman and all…  He began telling me about sunfish turning bright colors when they are scared.  Told me about blueshirts, turtles, and other snapping tales.  While we were looking at the little islands out in the lake, we began pondering the possible ways of having the boys stranded on the islands with the boat drifting off without them.  Then we had dogs on the shore going out to rescue the boat and the kids.  We laughed and laughed.  I asked if I could use his fishy stories for my boys.  He gave me permission.  So I did.

The little tale ended up being 9 pages long after adding the clip art and using a little larger font for little eyes. They always make me read them their story.  And the children LOVED it. They, too, laughed and laughed!

So…    That is why I include “Tell a story” as a part of the things to do to make a healthier you.  To laugh together with friends and relatives across the generations.  Laugh yourself to health this year – tell a story.

Some Health Tidbits Related to Chem-trails, Depression and Constriction:

Chem-trails:  A new type of rash has been noticed.  It appears to be from the condensation of Chem-trails.   Airplanes spew aluminum, bromium, strontium and other chemicals into the atmosphere in anticipation of changing the weather.  The fallout will sometimes condense in the air and cause spidery-web, lace-like, sometimes not even seen, caustic structures.  If they land on bare skin, an ulcer can form.  These little ulcerations look like a rash.   COMMENT:  Try homeopathic remedies such as Calendula or Strontium-bromide or Alumina.  Use a low potency, one pellet, in a cup of mild warm filtered water.  Splash the area a few times a day.

Depression:  Do you suddenly feel depressed for apparently no reason at all?  It may be that you are particularly sensitive to sun spots.  The Sun is having eruptions of fire, called sun spots.  When they appear more frequently or with greater force, then some individuals can feel it.  The feelings usually give rise to volatile emotions and the great fluctuations can bring on depression.   COMMENT:  Try grounding yourself.  Go barefoot on the earth, or hold a rock, or hug a tree.  I find carrying a rock in my pocket to be a good way to keep more grounded.

Constriction:  Do you sometimes have a constricting feeling in your chest or throat come on suddenly?   Or perhaps, a mild nausea?  You may have a sensitivity – an allergy – to something in your energy field.    COMMENT:  Try pressing on the Marma point that is below your nose and above your teeth, a depression on the ridge in the middle of your face above the lips.  Hold firmly with a slight circular motion for about a minute.



Homeopathy can help various problems you may be having with your teeth.

Cavities:  to prevent so many caries try a few months of once-a-week one dose of Silica (if a thin person) or Calcarea-carbonica.

Blackened with decay:  Staphasagria once a week.

Loosening teeth with bleeding gums:  Mercurius-vivus once a day for 21 days.

After extraction of a tooth:  Calendula every hour for infection and Arnica every hour for pain.

Teeth feeling bruised:  Ruta-graveolens three times a day for a few days.

Teeth grinding:  Tuberculinum or Cuprum-metalicum once a week or so.

Pyorrhea of gums:  Carbo-vegetalis or Mercurius-solibulus daily for a while.

Alzheimer’s disease: Alz·hei·mer’s disease (ältshī-mərz)  is a progressive form of dementia.  Dementia is a severe impairment of intellectual capacity and personality.  Symptoms of Alzheimer’s include a pattern of forgetfulness, short attention span, difficulty in performing routine tasks, language problems, disorientation, poor judgment, problems with thinking, misplacing things, depression, irritability, paranoia, hostility, and lack of initiative.

The cause of Alzheimer’s is unknown. Late-onset cases, which are the vast majority, may be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.  A quick test:  advanced Alzheimer’s patients cannot draw the face of a clock with hands pointing to 2:45.

The best nutritional vitamin supplements to delay or treat the dementia are:  Vitamin B-12 (1,000mcg daily), Coenzyme Q10 (up to 200mg daily), and DHA (in fish oil) (an Omega 3).

The best herbs to help are:  Ginkgo biloba (up to 240mg daily – NOT with blood thinners, Vit E or other medications), Winter cherry (Ayurveda Withania somnifera), and Brahmi (Ayurveda Herpestis monniera).
